VIDEO: Just a quick clip of my AMAZING daughter in her school program. NAILED IT!

Last Thursday Reese had her kindergarten end of year program. There was lots of singing and waving and awkward silences as we waited for certain kids to remember what they were supposed to do or say. Not everyone had lines, but they all got to say their names on the mic in front of everyone. (which was harder for some then others)

Here is the video of Reese’s lines she did while her group was talking about “Old Glory”. The audio isn’t great, but it’s pretty good considering I was recording from the hall outside of the HOT and CRAMPED school cafeteria they had the program in.

In case you are wondering, Reese’s line is, “13 stripes represent the 13 original colonies. Red stands for valor, white stands for purity, blue stands for loyalty.” SHE NAILED IT.

(For and added bonus, pay close attention to Reese in the background AFTER she says her line. You can tell she was REALLY into this whole program thing.)

Straight Out Of “The Christmas Story”… Cameron Stuck On An Ice Slide

My son Cam wasn’t quite heavy enough to build up the proper momentum to slide down this slide made of Ice. Needless to say, between him laying perfectly still on his back and my wife and one of the employees trying to get the guy at the bottom of the slide to go get Cam, it made for a funny video.

Today was “Generations Day” at Reese’s school. Basically that meant as many of the family that could was invited to have lunch with her in the cafeteria.

We had a great time. It’s always fun to see what she does on a day to day basis at her new school. It’s weird to think that now that she is in Kindergarten she has this whole life away from us that we really don’t have a clue about.

Two years ago today, this little guy was born!

Two years ago today I was about to walk out our front door and head to work when Lindsay came out of our bedroom and told me I might want to stick around for a little bit.

Her words were, “I think something’s happening.”

A couple of hours later, I was holding my son in my arms for the first time.

It’s hard to believe it’s already been two years!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAMERON!

A Dinner Conversation

20111003-062806.jpg

Lindsay: Here Babe, dinner.

Me: Two sandwiches? Are you trying to make me fat?

Lindsay: I’m not the one who ate an entire pizza this afternoon.

Me: I didn’t eat a whole pizza…

Lindsay: (long pause… Silent stare)

Me: … You had one piece…. You did! (feelings of shame)

20 minutes later, I had eaten both sandwiches… and they were delicious!

It makes me feel better to tell myself my wife isn’t ALWAYS right… I just happen to be wrong a lot more.

My Wife’s "Game Time Twitter Commentary" A MUST FOLLOW

We’re Dallas Mavericks fans here in the Holsinger House, but I would have to classify my wife Lindsay as a Mavs FANATIC. (I think one of the major reasons she even married me was that I had tickets to all the Mavs games. But, to be honest,  I don’t blame her.)

Needless to say we’ve been GLUED to the TV, cheering on our team as they battle the Heat through the Finals.

This has been such a roller coaster series that it’s almost hard to take at times. BUT, as much as I like to watch the Mavs play, I like to watch my wife Lindsay watch the Mavs even more.

You haven’t really experienced a Mavs game until you have sat in our living room with Lindsay. Sometimes it’s exciting, sometimes it’s funny, sometimes it’s a little scary. (those times I just slip out of the room without her noticing so I don’t become collateral damage.)

Since most of you will never be able to sit in our living room and watch the game with Lindsay, you can enjoy the next best thing… Lindsay’s “Game Time Twitter Commentary”.

Every Tweet is better then the one before. Lindsay is a MUST FOLLOW for this series against the Heat.

Here’s a recap so far of the NBA Finals series from Lindsay’s Twitter perspective.

Game 5 of the Finals starts tonight, so I would suggest you follow @lindsay1019 right now so you don’t miss any of the CLASSIC Twitter commentary. And while your following her on Twitter you should check out her blog Monkey-Love. She doesn’t post very often but when she does it is so good and most of the time HILARIOUS!

Go Mavs.

PS. PLEASE DO NOT TRASH TALK MY WIFE TONIGHT ON TWITTER IF YOU’RE A HEAT FAN. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MATCH WITS WITH HER. HOW DO I KNOW THIS? BECAUSE YOU’RE A HEAT
FAN!

Last week my daughter Reese graduated from Preschool. I used to think Preschool graduations and Kindergarten graduations were stupid, but now I know that they are actually adorable and very emotional, at least for my wife. (Of course, I’m sure I could not sit through any other kids graduation but mine.)

Before the Graduation all the students put on a musical based on stories from Aesop’s Fables. Reese played the Country Mouse.

Here are some pictures from the night as well as some spectacular video of Reese’s premier performance as “The Country Mouse” as well as her walking the stage to receive her “diploma”. (I never actually saw what was on the “diploma” but I suspect it was just a rolled up piece if paper… who knows.)

Enjoy.

My Dad’s A Legend…

I’ve mentioned my Dad here before. He’s a legend. He’s my biggest here. The first place I look when I need to know how a man of God should act. He’s awesome.

More so in my eyes now that I found this AWESOME picture of him when he was in Uni. (This is from Central Methodist University)

Dad’s third from the left, front row. The one with the dark rimmed glasses, big open collar and the cold stare that pierces you straight to your soul.

HE’S A LEGEND! I LOVE HIM!

My Boy Cameron. Even When He’s Crying He’s Cute.

Thursday is my day to work from home. It’s honestly the day that I get the most work done.

It’s also the day that I get to spend the whole day with my son Cameron. He’s only 18 months old, but I can tell how having this one day a week alone together has grown are relationship. (I think he actually likes me now!)

We had a rough start this morning. He was upset that Mom had left. So, like a good Dad, I didn’t comfort him. I grabbed the nearest camera and took some pictures.

Cute even when he’s upset.
