Oh, and Jesus and I are tight.
My first car was a Saturn, my current car is a mystique, I once helped crash a moving truck into a pole and knocked out power to half of Grapevine Mainstreet. I am not really sure what a "new age beverage" is and I love...Pumpkins?

I love going to the movies. Before the kids got here and you had to take out a mortgage to cover the costs of ticket prices, going to the movies was one of my favorite things to do. In my opinion, the best time to see a movie is the theaters first showing of the day. Why the first showing? Because that’s the least crowded time.

I don’t like to go when it’s least crowded because it’s easier to find a seat, I like to go then because that’s when it’s the most quiet. I love when it’s quiet because I love to be able to sit far enough back to be able to hear the clicking of the projector. I always have loved that sound for some reason. Unfortunately with more and more theaters going to digital servers and projectors, finding a theater that you can still hear the click of the projector is a rare thing.

It might seem strange to you, but as much as I love technology, the only time I ever wish for things to slow down are with randomly small things like this that some people might go a lifetime and never notice.

Great concept by the french firm Digital District for Amnesty International on their campaign to end the death penalty around the world. This really made me think… mostly about why no one has ever tried Death by Melting as a penalty?

Ps. Did you know that we (the USA) just this week executed a man by firing squad? I didn’t know we still did that. Supposedly the last one. Crazy.

For those of you out there who have ever thought the Yo-Yo was cool but it could be a little more “Street” or “Hip-Hop”, you can just call me the Genie cause I’ve just granted your wish! BAM!

This is probably one of the greatest sports intro videos I have ever seen. It does however leave me with two questions, 1) Why is this bear so angry? 2) Do all Polar Bears know how to fly fighter jets?

I want to fly to Alaska, find the person who made this and give them a high five.

This video brings back memories of playing on our farm (Pioneer Farm) in Missouri with my Granddad Marvin. ( He was one of the 2 grand dads I am named after) It’s pretty sad to think that the industry that once was the backbone of our nation is so corporate that the small farmers who are working the hardest are making the least.

I have a good feeling about this family though for two reasons. 1) The world can never have enough cheese. 2) They use the A-Team as a major life strategy, and you all know how much I love the A-Team.

I love this. Part of me wishes I could do this right now. Something about unplugging it all and getting to know silence is appealing to me. I was thinking the other day about the amount of “noise” there is in my life. Not actual sound “noise”, but distraction. (Though, between 2 kids there is a LOT of sound noise).

I’m always plugged in, always connected.

When my alarm clock goes off in the morning, first thing I do is turn on my Blackberry and check my email, text messages, Twitter and Facebook. For some reason this is what I HAVE to do at 5am? Then all day long if I’m not in front of my computer all day with email, facebook, twitter, skype, ect. Then if I do leave my office I have my Blackberry ringing or beeping or vibrating every 60 seconds. When I get home the it’s the same. (most of the time my laptop in on my lap & my phone next to it.)

Do I need ALL this information ALL the time? Is there anything that I am doing right now that requires me to be accessible to this information 24/7?

(Even as I typed that last sentence I stopped halfway through to check Twitter on my phone. Anything interesting? Nope, rarely is, but I check.)

Obviously I’m not going to move into a tent and live off the land any time soon (I’m not saying never because I’m bound to go a little crazy when I get old) but maybe I need a digital cleanse. Maybe it’s time to set some new ground rules for myself.

Maybe it’s time to make some changes. Maybe it’s time to turn down the noise.
