Oh, and Jesus and I are tight.
My first car was a Saturn, my current car is a mystique, I once helped crash a moving truck into a pole and knocked out power to half of Grapevine Mainstreet. I am not really sure what a "new age beverage" is and I love...Pumpkins?

This video brings back memories of playing on our farm (Pioneer Farm) in Missouri with my Granddad Marvin. ( He was one of the 2 grand dads I am named after) It’s pretty sad to think that the industry that once was the backbone of our nation is so corporate that the small farmers who are working the hardest are making the least.

I have a good feeling about this family though for two reasons. 1) The world can never have enough cheese. 2) They use the A-Team as a major life strategy, and you all know how much I love the A-Team.

I love this. Part of me wishes I could do this right now. Something about unplugging it all and getting to know silence is appealing to me. I was thinking the other day about the amount of “noise” there is in my life. Not actual sound “noise”, but distraction. (Though, between 2 kids there is a LOT of sound noise).

I’m always plugged in, always connected.

When my alarm clock goes off in the morning, first thing I do is turn on my Blackberry and check my email, text messages, Twitter and Facebook. For some reason this is what I HAVE to do at 5am? Then all day long if I’m not in front of my computer all day with email, facebook, twitter, skype, ect. Then if I do leave my office I have my Blackberry ringing or beeping or vibrating every 60 seconds. When I get home the it’s the same. (most of the time my laptop in on my lap & my phone next to it.)

Do I need ALL this information ALL the time? Is there anything that I am doing right now that requires me to be accessible to this information 24/7?

(Even as I typed that last sentence I stopped halfway through to check Twitter on my phone. Anything interesting? Nope, rarely is, but I check.)

Obviously I’m not going to move into a tent and live off the land any time soon (I’m not saying never because I’m bound to go a little crazy when I get old) but maybe I need a digital cleanse. Maybe it’s time to set some new ground rules for myself.

Maybe it’s time to make some changes. Maybe it’s time to turn down the noise.

→ Without Love: The Power of Our Words

I’m not quite sure we understand the power of our words. One negative, hurtful word, said out of hand or without thought is like a seed that is stuck deep into a persons soul. You might think that what I’m saying is extreme, but think with me a minute. Think back to the earliest memory you have of…

If you haven’t seen this before (I think I actually posted it a while ago) you need to watch the two videos below.

The first video is the 1 minute HBO opening from the 80’s, one of the most cutting edge tags of its time. The second video is the making of that tag. (about 10 minutes long.)

I can’t believe the amount of work that went into making that “simple” opener! Think about how long it took them to make this 1 minute opener when now they can shoot feature films digitally in 9 or 10 months and have it in the theaters and pressed and ready for the DVD release at the same time!

Another reason why I am so in love with technology. (Maybe too in love with technology, has anyone seen my Ipad? I REALLY need it!)
